Who was she kidding herself after all, there was no way she could compete with this preppy social culture. Not that Ashlee even really cared either. Well, that was a lie, she kinda did care but it was mostly so that all the adults in her lives could get off her back. Funny how teenagers can fuck up one time and all of the sudden, the adults thought it was the end of the world and they needed to start over. She didn't believe that for a second though. As for as she could tell, she is normal. Very normal and stable compared to everybody else. All of the girls here seemed to have one problem or another. Having problems is starting to become a norm as far as she could from eating disorders to drinking problems and sex addiction. Ashlee still couldn't even figure out if the latter were real or just something that celebrities made up to have an excuse for their actions. Still, she liked to believe that compared to everything else that people seemed to be affected with, her's was only shoplifting and it wasn't that bad. Sure, she'd probably still be doing it right now if she hadn't been caught but clearly, lessons had been learned. The night air was hot and muggy for once, and for once it reminded her back of Florida. All what was missing was the carnival actually being on a boardwalk instead of a fair ground field. Various people were walking by, some of them classmates and others were just strangers to Ashlee from the town. She just watched them walk on by as she passed them as well. Funny how there were millions of people out there in the world and yet there was only one story that you truly knew: yours. Wow, that almost sounded deep and Ashlee didn't even know how she felt about that, "Can't get soft Ashlee, you'll sound like Nickolas Sparks soon," she muttered under her breath. Instead of trying to sit with people though and make a conversation, she steered herself away from chit chat and classmates to sit herself down right at an empty bench. It wasn't even that bad, Ashlee found herself with a pretty nice view of everything. Sitting back, she crossed her legs indian style in front of her now with her hobo purse just sitting right next to her. The colorful lights seemed to sit the world on fire as Ashlee continued to watch and stare at things before she reached into her bag and pulled out a water bottle filled with a mixture of juice and vodka. Unscrewing the lid, Ashlee nodded to the ferris wheel and saluted it, "Here's to you, Appleberry Crest," and began to drink. words: 479 - tags: open - outfit: link |
