[/style] coach abercrombie leaned against the padded walls; her right foot pressed against the wall with her arm crossed. practice for appleberry crest's cheer team was expected to start any moment, yet none of her precious cheerleaders had arrived on the premises yet.
a frown overcame her lips as her lite eyes darted to the circular clock opposite from her position on the wall. it was two minutes till six and practice was suppose to run well past eight. it was the first one of the season, after all. if any of the squad showed up -if they even showed up- thinking that today's practice was going to be a piece a cake, ha, they were going to have a face-full of reality shoved into their perfectly made up faces.
truth was, coach abercrombie never let her team have an easy day. there was always something to clean, always something else to mastered. practice never stopped; it continued on and off the mats. grannted that sounded more intense then it was intended, being how this was only high school cheerleading. even still, coach abercrombie was going to push her team and push them hard she will. this wasn't going to be a sport where it is expected to just go along with the motions. no. coach abercrombie had plans that went a lot deeper than what she was given credit for.
either way, coach abercrombie was never looking for a place in the spotlight. nope, she was fine on the ground, where she could admire the masterpiece(s) that she creates over the past couple of years.
a light smirk overcame her face as the second hand swiped over the twelve. practice time and no one had bothered to showed their faces yet. oh they were going to pay. it may be the first practice of the season but coach abercrombie wasn't going to give them a break for anything.
they will figure that out soon enough.

i tightened my golden high ponytail one last time and twirled in the gymnasium bathroom's mirror. the cheer uniforms were mini dresses with shorts underneath, and ours were gold and green with the letter 'A' written across the chest. i'd heard the coach this year was tough. oh, well, i could handle her. with a bounce of my golden hair and a turn of my heel, i flounced out of the bathroom to where we were supposed to meet. i was exactly a minute late. so what? i walked silently up to where the teacher stood as some other girls filed in, two or three. i gauged her look. she didn't look so tough, in fact, she could pass as my aunt. i decided to play it sweet, it was always a good card to play. 'hey ms. abercombie,' i paused to smile brightly at her. 'my name is sammie.' i told her, my voice sweet as honey.
