Aaron led Tigger his troublesome and unruly 16.1 hand chestnut gelding to the outdoor arena on the grounds of Appleberry Crest the walk seemed to take longer than usual which was saying something since he'd only been here once or twice just to walk Tigger around on a lunge line to let him get used to his new arena. Aaron surveyed the arena and confirmed that it was empty before he swung the gate open. Aaron needed to feel more comfortable riding Tigger in the new arena before he had any lessons or rode with another horse and rider.
He led Tigger carefully into the arena and closed the large white gate after him. He then began checking his tack starting with his girth which was good and tight then his stirrups which were down and then he drew his reins. Aaron gathered his reins in his left hand and put his foot into the stirrup, preparing himself to mount but Tigger being the unruly gelding he was did his usual routine of trying to walk away from Aaron while Aaron was halfway onto him., but Aaron who was well-used to Tigger doing was hardly fazed at all since Tigger did very often.
He didn't even bother trying to keep him still while he collected his stirrups, since trying to keep Tigger still when he was that excited would really just be a futile effort on Aaron's part.
Aaron took a deep breath preparing himself for the task ahead and sunk his heels down as deep as he could in his stirrups. Tigger side stepped and bobbed his head as if he was very anxious to go forward and do something instead of just stand still. Aaron squeezed lightly with his legs and caught the geldings swift forward motion with a quick yet forceful half-halt and made him do a circle resulting in a quick and choppy but controlled trot.
The pair had hardly gotten halfway around the large ring when Tigger flicked his ears backward this Aaron's only warning to sit deep and hold on onto Tigger's mane for dear life as Tigger burst forward and skidding and bucking a few times before slowly returning his attention to his rider and went back to his choppy yet controlled trot. Aaron glanced backward to see that someone had opened the arena gate and come in letting the gate slam shut behind them but he couldn't spare any more of his time attention to find out who it was. Tigger was unruly enough to force him to spare not even a minute of his attention on something else such as the arrival of a new horse and rider into the ring

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - She hadn't excatly gotten a chance to ride yet, Grace ahd been too wrapped up in coming to Appleberry to even think about anything else. After a few days of settling though, and a less than stellar run in with one of the school's more popular girls, Grace figured it was time to get back in the saddle. She wasn't like Quentin where she took riding seriously, even on her mother's ranch, it had just been something to do to clear her mind. That and to accompany the tourists on their long hauled trail riding experiences. And even though by the time their found out about Appleberry and their mother had phased her children out of the riding schedules, Grace was certain that she still knew how to ride and therefore, she had Denny. The spry cattle horse was half quater horse, she had known that much, but other than that, his genetics were a mystery. The best thing about him though was that he was safe and sound, and nothing could really phase him since he dealt with cows and silly horses. His hooves caused an echo down the aisles as they headed outside to the outdoor arena. But somebody seemed to have beaten them to it, but what was riding without some friends? Grace merely invited herself in now, allowing the gate to shut behind them with a swing. However, she found herself wondering if that had been such a good idea as she watched the boy and his horse, who looked like a time bomb waiting to explode, "Do you have a control over your horse?" she called now, not bothering to mount up just yet as Denny stood next to her with a bored expression.

Aaron blinked and quickly glanced over at the girl and her horse who looked be a Quarter horse crossed with another breed he didn't know. He called out to her as he and Tigger made another swift circle and changed their direction so that they passed the girl and her horse once more "Yes I do he's just a bit jumpy because it's a new arena and he hasn't been ridden in a day or two and next time don't let the arena gate slam like that it's dangerous had Tigger been a hugely spooky horse he would have thrown me off be more careful when there is another horse and rider in the next time please"
He was surprised she hadn't been more careful in the first place it was one of the major rules of arena riding at his old stables 'never let the gate slam shut when there is another horse and rider in the ring no matter how confident they look or if the horse is on a lunge line' he found himself mentally mimicking the old raspy voice of Mrs. Gibson his old riding instructor. He shortened his reins and gave Tigger a big kick to get him moving forward and gave him a big pat when answered to his leg cue and went forwards at nice even and collected trotting pace. Should Tigger keep up his unusually good behavior the pair might even get a chance to canter a little bit he would have to get Tigger settled with the arena quickly if he wished to remain in the Intermediate Riding Team.
He rose up and down in the saddle with a nice easy and natural rhythm but as always Tigger being the unruly brute he was pulled himself to a halt unexpectedly and lowered his head to graze on a stray batch of hay in the arena. Aaron gritted his teeth and pulled Tigger's head up and shortened his reins as short as they could go before giving the chestnut gelding a tap with his riding crop and as well as a few hard kicks sending the gelding shooting forwards with a quick burst of speed.

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - Everybody seemed to love telling people off at this place. Girls, Boys. Soon, she'd probably get into trouble with a teacher at the pace that she was going. Grace hadn't thought that the gate had really been that big of a deal, but at their ranch, the horses were so accustomed to everything that it was hard to remember that other people had flighty horses. Her lips twisted a bit as she watched the boy and his horse. The horse was spooky, and seemed a little all over the place and the rider was using the crop and legs to move it forward. She almost thought it a little rough, but what did she know about English riding? Nothing, "If he's so spooky, then maybe you should have ridden him in the indoor," Grace fired back. After all, there were less sounds inside and if the guy did fall, there wasn't much for his horse to go since, well, can't jump over a gate in the indoor. Heaving a sigh though, Grace threw her foot into the stirrup and got onto Denny, who remained placid and still watched the scene with some continued boredom as the horse past them. The ring was nothing like the open range, "Do you like, need help with anything?" though the answer was probably no, and she had the funniest idea that being ponyed along was not the guy's idea of fun, but Grace wouldn't trust that horse in a heartbeat. She and Denny should probably just leave the ring.

Aaron blinked at her and snorted this girl was slowly itching away at his carefully and strongly built wall of calmness and patience she should follow the basic rules of riding at stables. He turned to look at her his bright green eyes flashed in the bright light of the afternoon and said as calmly as he could, "look I don't want to start a fight here but next time be a more careful and considerate of the other riders here not all horses are bomb proof and I would have ridden in the indoor but there's a private lesson going on in a hour there's a notice on the ring notice boards and I plan to be riding for at least an hour and a half and i'd rather not be around during a private lesson and no thank you but thanks for the offer but me and Tigger are just fine"
He turned Tigger away from the other horse and rider quickly and sent him forward into a nice collected trot and did a few circles and direction changes before shortened his reins and did a few turn on the haunches it was the one exercise Tigger despised mainly because he was still learning it and he hadn't to learn new things. Aaron patted Tigger's gleaming shoulder as the gelding completed the move a few times without any type of rebellion.

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - Grace merely frowned when she heard that snort, somebody was getting a little testy with her now, all because of that stupid gate. Okay, maybe she should have shut it a little more quietly but it was her experiences that sound horses were the only ones that left the indoor arena. Besides, clogging up the arena with a horse that couldn't handle sounds from outside hindered the other riders. She was certain that if Denny and her did any sort of riding now, the boy just might bite her head off literally. So much for attempting to be nice to offer him with some help, maybe she should just lasso them instead, "Fine." Grace said, and turned Denny, who happily complied and they walked towards the gate and unlatched it, allowing it to swing open but she caught it before it slammed against anything and gently rested it, "You can shut the gate yourself and safe yourself another lecture directed at me." Nudging Denny in the side, her horse moved forward now and they left outdoor arena and started towards the trails.
